Help with my opiate withdrawals!!?

Posted by admin - Under: Home Remedies for Panic Attacks

I posted a question about this earlier, but, I haven’t gotten many responses, so I’m asking again. Here’s my situation; Lately, I’ve been running low on pills, I normally take 240mg of oxycodone daily, and twice this month I’ve ran out of them, and experienced withdrawals so bad it easily brings me to screaming crying. I really wanna know if anyone has any at-home remedies or any suggestions as to what I can do to ease these symptoms, the thing that I hate the most is the extremely intense feeling in my whole body that feels like there’s a million bugs running wild in there and it will NOT let me sleep.. ever. The cold sweats, intense muscle aches, rhinorrhea, and nausea alone are enough to bring me to tears, but, that bug feeling on top of all of it, is sheer agony. I want to get off pills, but, I’m so terrified of the withdrawals I’ll have panic attacks if I know there’ll be a point I won’t have medicine. So, if anyone’s been through this, any tips on how to ease those symptoms, please let me know. I honestly feel like this was the worst decision I’ve ever made, and I really wanna get back to my normal life. Anything will be helpful, words of encouragement, I want to know there can be a point where I’m not dependent on this anymore. Thanks

Hi DizzyA, I was hooked on Vicodin HP’s back in 2004. I was taking 18 pills a day, and had 4 people getting prescriptions for me. When I decided to kick the pillls, I chose the Suboxone program. It is the easiest way to get off of the Oxycodones, and is very successful.

Suboxone is a member of the Buprenorphine family. If you google Buprenorphine you will get much information on how this man made opiate works. Another useful link is www.samsha.com. This will provide you with the names of Physicians, Hospitals and Clinics that offer this program.

These are the necessary steps to detox from the Oxycodones, and start on the Suboxone. First, you will choose where you want to have the transition done. You will be given an appointment, and they will assess your level of addiction and the best way to approach your detoxification. Then they will give you a time and day to return to start you on the Suboxone. The most important day, is the day before you will transfer from the Oxy’s to Suboxone. On this day, you will take your morning dosage as usual, but then NONE for the rest of the day. If you feel that it will be too hard to do this by yourself, tell the physician and they can hospitalize you overnight, or if you feel you can do it, please have someone with you to watch that you do not take any Oxy’s for this one and only day. When I got jittery on this day, I took Benadryl. Its an antihistamine that makes you tired. It helped me to sleep through the day. The following morning you will go to the Suboxone clinic, and when you are determined to be in full withdrawal, they will give you 4mgs of Suboxone which has to be placed under your tongue to dissolve. After one hour, they will see how you are and give you 4 more mgs. When the second dosage of 4 hit my bloodstream I was feeling much better. After another hour, I was again given 4mgs for a total of 12. When the last 4mgs hit me, I was completely fine, and a little tired. But no withdrawal at all ever again! The pills come in 8 mgs tablets. The maximum dosage for a 24 hour period is 32 mgs or 4 whole tablets. If you were to take extra to try and get high, it simply would not work as your brain will not recognize anything higher than the 32 mgs. If you were to take an oxy while on Suboxone, you would feel nothing from the Oxy. Suboxone has an opiate blocker which will not allow your brain to get high from any other opiates. However, taking other opiates with the suboxone can lead to serious problems, including death. So please do not take any other opiates while on Suboxone, and do not keep any drugs in the house.

You stay on the Suboxone for approximately four months, then you are weaned off very very slowly. Once you are off the Suboxone, you are no longer addicted to anything. It is an amazing program and I know you will have much success. I never thought I would kick the Vicodins without either going away and bouncing off walls, or suffering horrible withdrawals. Do some research on this program, and trust me one day of withdrawal is all the pain you will feel. I wish you much success and good health. God Bless. If you want to email me for information or just to chat about this please feel free to do so. Just click on my name above in blue.

I think for opiates, if I remember correctly there are medications you take that help wean you off of opiates. You little by little take yourself off of the opiates, while taking this med (I’m not sure what it is ask your doctor). I hope this helps.. you may just have to talk to your doc because with opiates it’s not easy to get off while taking that long..

try a warm/hot bath with a candle lit somewhere in the bathroom and some soft music playing. drink a lot of orange juice and eat as healthy as you can to decrease the toll on your body. protein and vitamin c will help. if you feel this has gone beyond your control you may want to seek professional help. it would go a lot easier on you if you were involved in an inpatient program and it would only help. there are medicines professionals can give you to help counteract any withdrawals. talk to your doc. exercise, meditation, keep your mind off of it as much as possible. take care of your body and mind, take care of yourself. you are worth it. good luck

You better get your butt in a Methadone clinic or in a Suboxone program. And get off the stuff in one month max! on meth or sub!Nothing is going to cut this and it can last 21 days cold turkey, and this amount, forget weaning.

It is hell and these things are nothing to phuck around with.

Your a fool. I’ve been there. See your doctor before you hurt yourself permanently, your organs. you can burn them out. He can help you through with drawl with methadone and watch your recovery from time to time. Don’t mess with this.
